Hey look, a cliff. Let's jump off.

Here is a quote which I am going to try to keep in mind while I work through whatever it is I'm currently working through:

Sometimes it takes darkness and the sweet confinement of your aloneness to learn that anything or anyone that does not bring you alive is too small for you. -- David Whyte

I am unfamiliar with this David Whyte person, but I think I like the cut of his jib.

So hey, I am going to steal that thirty day meme from cinderlily. I will probably regret committing myself to posting daily, particularly when it's time for the advent calendar, but what the heck. I have a song to share with you, so I might as well.

Day 01 → Your favourite song

Nota bene: This is not my all-time favorite song. It's just my current favorite song. If you asked for my all-time favorite song we'd probably be here until next Thursday, at which point everyone would get bored and go home. So let's not do that.

Today's song is by The Paper Raincoat, who I mentioned the other day. It's tough to pick just one of their songs, because the whole album is seriously fantastic and just grows and grows with every listen into this beautiful story, but of all the tracks on there, this one is speaking to my current state of mind the most. So here, give it a listen:

The Paper Raincoat -- The Same Old Things

And if you like it, consider purchasing some of their music. I would share the whole album, but they're indie and they could use the support. They are on iTunes for your purchasing leisure, though the actual CD comes in a shiny metal case, if you're into that sort of thing.
