Two ficlets so far. Not a lot for a full day's work, granted, but it's a start. And if these are not to your liking, I'm taking requests here through Thursday. Put up or shut up.

Here's some more substandard fic for you:

It doesn't even take a day before all Avery can smell is cod. That's no surprise; he spends his days on the boat scrambling in and out of crab traps, hanging bait and cutting up cod and shoveling fish guts into bait bags. There's fish guts on his clothes, under his nails, in his hair. There's no avoiding them, and no matter how hard he scrubs, he knows he won't get rid of the smell until he's back home with Brett again.

If Brett noticed the smell after King Crab season he never said anything. Then again, he didn't really get that close to Avery when he first got home; it took them awhile to get around to that, and even now it's hard to believe that any of that actually happened. There's a part of him that expects to go home in a couple weeks and find that he dreamed the whole thing, that Brett's still mad at him for coming back to Dutch.

Well, that part he's pretty sure is true; Brett's definitely mad, but he hasn't let it stop him from showing Avery exactly how much Brett wants him to

This is so far from substandard I can't even tell you!! ♥!! I want to LIVE in this universe. Too bad I would drown or something. I probably wouldn't fall off a roof, though.

I'm kind of embarrassed to leave a comment, because even thought I read almost all your posts, I know I tend to only comment when it's Harlan and Marcus...but I can kind of blame you for that, right? After all, you made me love them. *koff* And thank you.
