Fic: Someday At Christmas (CSI, Nick/Greg, PG) + advent calendar

Dec 10, 2008 06:36

Today is Jack Johnson day on the advent calendar. And since it's Jack Johnson day, and I've been writing that little Jack Johnson-themed series, I thought I would take a break from Yuletide and write a little CSI fic to go with the music. But oh my God, you guys, I did not intend for it to be this appalling. Talk about sappy. My little angst- ( Read more... )

I heart this and I heart you most of all. It makes me secretly happy and takes me back to see Nick and Greg on my flist again. (Does this mean I have to get back into watching CSI again?)

I don't think the actual show is required viewing, no. I'm just on a bit of a nostalgia kick :) Thanks! ♥

Hey, Christmas is supposed to be sappy. It's like a requirement ( ... )

Ooh, now this post has two fics in one! Yay! I do love Greg's Norwegian roots, and I loveloveLOVE the idea of him carting old family ornaments around with him. I'm so glad this inspired you a little. :)

And I can totally see Nick's mom as the glass ornaments-and-ostentation type, so really, she has been going about it all wrong.

Glass and ostentation indeed. All in white and silver. So even tho it's beautiful, it's cold and unapproachable. It's not something that Nick noticed before. The contrast between Greg's homemade Christmas and his mom's Tiffany's tree-topper only now are obvious to him. He's trying to decide if he should invite his folks out next year...just to see her reaction.

I would pay cash money to see Nick's parents interacting with Greg on a personal level. Seeing his dad be all stiff and unapproachable, but trying to accept his Gay Son, and seeing his mom try to keep up with Greg's nervous energy. Because he babbles when he's nervous, and she'd go back to the hotel exhausted and just stare at the ostentatious hotel Christmas decorations over a martini until the world turns itself upright again.

Oh my sappy boys, how I love thee. How are you feeling this morning, Caroline? The codeine, while gross, has helped so did taking a sick day.

I'm glad you're feeling better! I feel a little woozy and hung over, to be honest. I guess it's the fact that I haven't taken antibiotics in over ten years, so they actually work for me? I don't know, but hopefully it means I'm getting better.

I'm drained but the cough has calmed down and I can breath again. The hang over could be from the meds, your body getting used to them. I hope work doesn't suck too much. I'm home all day (well, until I venture to Kohls this afternoon) if you need someone to talk to.

This was just what I needed after a day the Grinch would be proud of. Thankees!
