Fic: Nature's Law (Brett/Avery, Suicide Kings, PG)

Jul 12, 2008 07:47

During our last fangirl weekend, my roommate was duckduck. We spent quite a bit of that weekend discussing the intricacies of a Suicide Kings AU based on the Deadliest Catch universe. One night we even laid awake in the dark, ironing out all the details and giggling until we couldn't breathe over something I can't even remember. It might have had to do ( Read more... )

Oh! Oh! I'm flailing over here, and a little misty-eyed, to tell you the truth, because this is even better than I imagined. It's fantastic! Thank you so much for writing it.

And thanks for the birthday wishes. Love you too. ♥

You're welcome! I actually wrote it Thursday, and it was reallyreally hard not to post yesterday. Because I am an attention whore. But, birthday! I hope you have a fantastic time doing whatever you're doing tonight.

(Also, I think writing this has re-ignited my love for the whole concept of this AU. Maybe I'll just write it in endless snippets so there's no pressure to finish a huge, sprawling project. And that way if other people decide to join in *cough*hint*cough* they can play too.)

Dammit, I did have a plot bunny idea about this after I read it, dammit.

As for tonight, I'm going to give myself alcohol poisoning. There will be pictures. I already took one especially for you.

Then my work here is, of course, done.

I look forward to seeing them. After you recover from your alcohol poisoning, of course.

Oh silly Avery, you and I both know that it's more than just buddies between the two of you.

The cap, if I remember correctly, looked something like the one on the left.

Ahahaha! The buffalo plaid is totally perfect. I was thinking of something a little less flashy (though the shape is totally right) because it's Brett, but I bet he'd pick the red because it's easy to spot in a whiteout. Or in case he fell off a roof into a snow bank. As one tends to do.

Or maybe Avery saw it when he was out and about and bought it for him for those very reasons you mentioned, and then after Avery leaves Brett wears it everywhere.

Aww. Man, now I'm going to get all weepy over what a ridiculous sap Brett is. Stupid hormones.

This oddly enough filled me with warm fuzzies, which was probably not the intention but it SO DID. The end of the movie left me with so much sadness I can't even say but I love the idea that they go on. And I love that they are still so FREAKING oblivious that they don't see what is right there and I love that Avery called Brett his girl. (Well, it was a lie of omission, but still. It is awesome.)

Fantrips bring me glee on their own, but the fic after brings me a little bit of comfort from having to wait for the next one. ;)

Warm fuzzies are good, I sort of had them while I was writing it. So hurray for that. It is a very sad movie, in a way, but they're both alive at the end and Brett's already forgiven Avery without even having to talk about it. That's true love, right there. So I just keep writing endless fics because what else are you supposed to do with a movie like that, you know?

I know exactly what you mean. ♥

Justine and I could hear you two giggling through the ceiling. Hee. And this was so lovely. Brett worrying and all of it.
