I have all these fandom icons and no reason to use them anymore.

I keep formulating all these posts in my head, but then I actually open the post window and my only coherent thought is 'ugh'. Followed swiftly by 'do not want', and then I click away and find something else to waste my time on ( Read more... )

It's so frustrating! I'm not really sure what to do. I hope we both find our writing mojo again soon.

Meanwhile, thanks for the recs! I am willing to try just about anything right now.

*flail* BD Wong does audio books? How did I not know this? I mean, I considered getting a book on tape that I tagged today because it was read by Chiwetel Ejiofor even though the book didn't sound that interesting ( ... )

I'm not sure how many audiobooks B.D. Wong has voiced, but according to Amazon he did the audiotape of Tick Tock. I don't have a tape player anymore, so I can't request that one, but I imaginne it is worth seeking out if you do.

If you're going to delve into Koontz, I really recommend starting with Intensity. It's his best by far and the one that keeps me going back for more in the vain hope that it wasn't just a fluke.

Anyway, I'll keep everyone posted on the depression factor of the dwarves in the Holocaust book. It's sure to be beautiful and heartbreaking.

I have tried writing prompts, definitely. I'm too lazy to write non-fiction, but really, my problem isn't ideas. I have tons of ideas, I just can't seem to find the headspace to work on any of them. It's really annoying.

I have entertained the idea of seeing it alone this weekend and not telling the family. But I won't.

I have no advice on the writing front. My power of words only extends as far as research papers and the like. :(

I also don't have any scary books to rec, as I haven't read anything nonfiction since I started college. However, if you enjoyed Voodoo in New Orleans, I recommend: Tell My Horse: Voodoo and Life in Haiti and Jamaica by Zora Neale Hurston. I did a paper on voodoo and this book was one of my favorites that I found during my research.

Let us know how the holocaust book turns out, it sounds interesting.
