SO tired. This weekend was really, really fun, but I dropped rainydaypsycho at the airport this morning, and now I am back at work and exhausted. There wasn’t much sleep, but there was a lot of fangirling and watching of various movies and TV shows and porn, and I watched most of Torchwood with Tonya to make up for making her suffer through Harry Potter. We ( Read more... )

I took my nephew and my two nieces...they all have read the books...and they spent the entire time whispering to me how the Most Important Thing had been left out. They were traumatized. I promised that we would spend next weekend reading the book aloud to each other to make up for the insult. They were appeased. So, it seems I will indeed read at least ONE HP book. Who knew?

Alas, you're stuck reading the longest of them all. You know it's over 800 pages long, right? You're a good aunt. Small comfort, perhaps, but true nonetheless.

The silly bleaters want repeat weekends with the whole library. I asked if there were other books they might prefer...no go. Yes...The Potter books are ridiculously long. I'm sure I'm going to be voiceless and confused come Tuesday when I return them all to their respective abodes.

Remind me. Why did I think having a kid would be a good idea?

I can't help you there. I find children vaguely terrifying. But I'm sure you'll be up to the challenge, and really, reading the Potter books is good practice for all the repetition that goes along with childrearing.

What are you talking about? She had a great time with you. I think she was going through loud music withdrawal while she was here, since all I listen to is weird non-mainstream stuff.

The Hole is much different than Gavin and Boyd. It's not intense at all, and since it's a spoof of The Ring it's mostly just hilarious. But there's a sweet love story at the center of it and there's one scene that's really hot, mostly because the main character is meant to be imagining the whole thing.

Hey,

I cannot wait until THE LAIR comes out on DVD. Peter Stickles is right up there behind Seann William Scott and Casper Van Dien on my list of Future Hubbies *g*

I only caught on when you said the words Torchwood which is one of the current loves of my life. And the urge to talk about Jack and Jack and Ianto is almost irrepressible...

I admit I have been avoiding the Harry Potter films because I usually cringe to see adaptations. And because my mental images of Sirius and Lupin were kind of ruined after the third movie. But I admit that actually I thought the 5th one was fairly good (in all honesty, this may have been because I hadn't re-read the book and was fuzzy on what they'd missed out)though a lot of people around me seem to dislike Cho (the actress is Scottish apaparently...so erm...)

Hey, I've read most of your fic on your website, and thought I'd check out your lj. Because I am stalkerish, whooo. But not really and anyway, your review of OOTP sounds really familiar and I'm pretty sure I've read it before, but I can't for the life of me remember where. Did you post this someplace else too?
