Fic: Highwire (Newsies, Jack/David, PG)

Jan 27, 2007 17:31

Today is my 4-year LJ-versary. Every year I tell myself that I'm going to remember and make some sort of reflective post about a bunch of stuff no one cares about, then every year I forget. So this year I finally remembered, and I can't really think of anything to say. My LJ stats tell me that I've made 2,015 journal entries in the past four ( Read more... )

Wao, 4 years! Really? Hahaha, congratulations for lasting so long, I swear most people give up after a while. Gosh, I have a looooong time before I can even hope to reach that kind of record officially (OK, I admit I was abit underage when I was into many of my fandoms...)

...Annnnyways! Good luck with RL, because that's important too. I will sit here patiently and wait for your return (I told you I was easy maintenance and took up little space right? XD)

Heh. Thanks. Most of the time I think of it as four years of my life that I've frittered away on LJ with nothing to show for it.

Four years here huh? Seems longer. Because I've been here a little less than you. Today my emailed about how much she loves reading my LJ and how great I am. And I'm like, I haven't updated in forver and man I have to make sure to lock mom rants! But it was a cool egoboost.

And the Newsies slash was awesome. I don't really remember the movie, I should see it again but the setting, the words, David's feelings for Jack came across loud and clear. And I loved the line about them partners. Yay.

Yeah, it's important to remember to lock the touchy family stuff once your mom finds your journal : ) When my mom was reading mine I had to lock her out of that stuff.

Thanks for reading my little fic. I am sort of proud of this one in a 'new fandom shininess' kind of way. I felt it was only right to celebrate my fannish longevity by writing a fic barely anyone will read ; )

There you go again...writing fic for things I have to go out and find just so I know what the heck you're talking about. Are you trying to make me literate?? I have missed your updates, and look forward to your return. Enjoy your foray into the real world...but don't let it keep you for too long.

Congratulations on your LJ anniversary. Flowers? Dinner? Candles??? You must have done something!

It's only right, really. I started my fic career writing in fandoms of one, and I only stumbled into semi-notoriety when Nick/Greg got popular, by which time I'd written most of my body of CSI work already.

Newsies is a live-action Disney musical based on a true story about the boys in NYC who hawked newspapers on the street, then went on strike and successfully fought the newspapers and sort of unionized. It's full of crazy music and choreographed dancing and Christian Slater falling in love with a boy and then dating the boy's sister because there's no reference for homosexuality in their world. It's a great movie.

I went to the movies yesterday, if that counts. It wasn't to celebrate four years of life wasted on LJ, but it was a good movie.

Direct quote from my Grammie Fiona, "A life lived with love and laughter, with kindness and a generous soul is not a waste. It is an offering to God." She's Irish, and talks that way, but is a way smart lady.
