This has been rattling around my head for two days, so I locked myself in my car with my Mike Doughty CDs during my dinner break and wrote it longhand. I don't know that I'm happy with it, but I write so rarely these days that it seems a shame not to post

Psst...if you want, you can think of this as the beginning of the Denial!Verse, and then it's not so sad. I thought about posting that when I posted the fic, but then I decided not to because it also works well as a denouement and I didn't want to lessen the emotional impact for people who like that sort of thing.
