A new beginning

I've now completed my first week at my new job. The company is a hundred times better than the one I used to work for. (They still haven't sent my P45 and I left four weeks ago now) I'm really enjoying it, I've made some friends in my training group, unfortunately I won't be working them when the training is over as we are being put into different ( Read more... )

Glad to hear that you are enjoying your new job!
I love how people like us need to take so many convention factors into consideration, when it comes to holiday planning ... :D I am the same way, although so far I only have BBM marked down.

Thanks, it's nice to come home from work in a good mood lol

BBM is the only definate one but I need to make my mind up soon about the others, I don't get as much time off as I used to so I have to be really picky now!

Yay on the new job going well. I remember when I started on the call centre 8 years ago I felt more nervous doing the 'practice' calls than the real thing lol.

I plan my other holiday stuff around cons too! I have (probably) Ravens in April, Asylum 3 in May and BBM in June... plus Collectormania's possibly inbetween. And then I wonder why I'm so skint lol

Thank you, it is really scary isn't it. I hope I get used to it soon!

That's a lot of cons very close together, I wish I got more time off so I could go to more. Luckily I have most weekends off now so I should be able to get to Collectormania without using any holiday as I usually only go for one day.

Once I got used to everything I needed to know I quite enjoyed talking to people all day lol it just made me ill so I had to stop doing it.

I'm lucky that I don't work weekends and can build up an extra 12 days a year in flex time so having Fri and Mon off a few times a year doesn't affect my regular holidays. That's one of the reasons I'm reluctant to change jobs!! lol

That's lucky, I only have to work two weekends every six weeks so I'm hoping Collectormania and LFCC will be when I'm off anyway so I won't need to use any holiday, I only get 4 weeks and I'm hoping to go to America for the first time next year so I need to save some time off for that as well.

Oooh, hope the new team will be a good crew! I'm sure you will do great once you're on a roll with the customers.

I only just saw TDK on Saturday! I thought I would be the last person to see it!

I hope they are too, I got to meet some of them today including my team leader and they seem cool so I think I'll be ok.

The Dark Knight was amazing wasn't it? I didn't think it would be as good as the hype was making it out to be but it really is, it's definately my fave batman movie.

I really enjoyed TDK! Heath Ledger was very unHeath Ledgerish - mavellously creepy and fittingly JokerOTTness. I think I need to watch it again to decide if I like it better than Batman Begins. I really loved that (Katie Holmes aside).

I thought Heath as the joker was the best part of the movie although I thought Aaron Eckhart did a really good job as well.
I really hope Heath gets an oscar nod for it, he really deserves it.
