I think I figured out my Anthony Michael Hall obsession. It was baffling me. Usually the reasons for my many (and often fleeting) obsessions reveal themselves almost immediately- in fact, they often preceed the obsessions and influence them. Makes sense, doesn't it? That's why this whole Anthony Michael Hall thing has been so bizarre. I wasn't sure

i adored him (now, i was an adult at the time, but it wasn't all dirty-old-lady!) in Sixteen Candles and the Breakfast Club. he was wonderful in both. i thought he was a kid with an amazingly natural ease in front of the camera and an ability to embody his character. i was startled by recent stills of him. as you say, it wouldn't have been possible to predict he'd look like this!

i haven't seen any of his new shows, but i'm willing to believe he's still very good.

right on! i agree. he had (and has) an amazing presence. have you seen "weird science"? he was just bizarre in that, but in a good way, and like you said, he handled the weirdnesses so well. you should check out "the dead zone". you might love it. it's pretty addictive. bad dialogue but good storylines. you know. like every drama show. ;)

i saw weird science years ago and enjoyed it very much. yes, i thought he was excellent. he conveys intelligence and wackiness in equal measures. :D

i don't watch tv (aside from the dvds of smallville that i'm working my way through because of the beauty that is tom welling and the sex-on-a-stick that is michael rosenbaum. (i didn't make up the sex-on-a-stick thing. it made me laugh when i read it somewhere...)
