After reading all the depressing posts today on my Flist, I wrote up a paragraph, then decided to post it as part of a separate entry on my journal, instead of a comment:

I know. But DAMN-half the comments on ONTD-P today are "Whelp, time to move out of the country!!" That's just not possible for a lot of people.

And I've learned to just bite my tongue and ignore the folks that say "I'm not voting for Obama, because he's not far left enough for me!" It's either that, or foam at the mouth at their lack of intelligence, when what I really want to do is beat them over the head with a cluebat.

I have a ton of right wing relatives on my Facebook, but oddly enough, they don't like what's going on with women's rights, and they don't like what's going on with our whole mess here in Kansas.
I have only one who is steadfastly right wing, and I can tell it's because he's too young to know any better (he grew up in Mobile, and is firmly convinced that there are free clinics for birth control on every corner everywhere in the US), and also because he's on track for a career in the Air Force, and is probably convinced that every Democrat is a closet pacifist, who wants to take away his toys.

JFC. Classism. LET ME SHOW YOU IT. How are they not twigging to that? And you know those are the same people who would call out someone else for an offhand privileged statement.

Obama knows how to use the system well enough that it will come down to debates where he should pwn Romney.

But I like the advice here - complacency in the face of all the Koch & Super PAC money funding the right is suicidal.
