*FANTASTIC* story. So so good. I lurve angst that ends up well and I know you were concerned this wasn't 'happy' enough for a ficathon entitled Happy Endings. But, as someone who avoids, solely-fluff, this was just... it's like you wrote it for me!

Great characterization, loved that you didn't gloss over the past and the section in Sri Lanka was just heartbreakingly perfect.

Thanks!

This really is quite beautiful.
I love the Sri Lankan scenes, with Angel's struggle to master the Four Protections, and with the hauntingly tense hallucinations.
I love part two even more, the painful tenderness with which Buffy observes and cares for Angel, and the lovely way in which it ends.

chrisleeoctaves was right: this story is 'intelligent and beautiful and…hopeful.'

Thankyou :)

What I like most about this story is that everybody gets something different from it.

I'm glad that you've finally read it, and that you liked it; I was all afraid that you'd read it and then not like it! I'm so glad you enjoyed it, and thank you so much for your kind feedback. It means a lot.

Ah you needn't have worried: I was pretty confident that I was going to love it, because I trust chrisleeoctaves's judgement when it comes to B/A fic - she knows a good one when she sees it :)

I followed Chrislee’s recommendation at The Magic Box - because Chrislee is never wrong - to find that she is… never wrong ( ... )

Thank you so much for such eloquent, intelligent feedback. I really appreciate everyone who reads my work and who takes the time to tell me they enjoyed it, but it's especially gratifying when they tell me why, and so well. I'm very glad you liked it.

Oh my God, Carly...this was absolutely beautiful! Your attention to detail is breathtaking and the connection between the two of them is given such strength and love in this piece. Your characterization is spot-on and I finished the story with a smile on my face, so glad to know that they've found peace and happiness after so much time. Gorgeous!
