Gilbert, as per usual, arrived late to practice.
It really wasn't his fault... really! He just-- well-- sometimes-- er-- well-- just sometimes-- he--
He tried to slip right into the gym unnoticed, hoping he could successfully blend in with the rest of the team, already beginning to start their drills.
It didn't help that his cleats were only half on his feet and his uniform was haphazardly on his body.
He cast a nervous glance at the coach.

Antonio somehow managed to be facing towards the door just as Gilbert walked into the gym. He looked nervous. Was he alright?
.... Maybe he was just imagining things. Gilbert was always really full of energy. And his shoes weren't tied or anything. Maybe something was wrong. Gilbert knows how important it is to come to practice prepared. Untied shoes falling off your feet is not prepared... Late isn't too big of a deal, since he's not very late, but not wearing shoes? That's just silly ( ... )

Extremely half-assed.
He wasn't even really on the team. If he couldn't be captain, he didn't want to be on the team. But he showed up anyway.
Not because he liked to or wanted to watch the coach play or anything.
He was just. Bored.
Yeah.
It's about 4:45, and he's late. But Antonio or Mr. Carriedo or whatever the fuck he was supposed to call him couldn't call him on it.
He wasn't part of the team.
So he slipped into the gym, climbing up the closed bleachers to watch from there. He wasn't going to participate. It was his form of rebellion, of protest.
Maybe Antonio would get the clue sometime.

The team is finishing up with practice and at about 4:50, Antonio calls out for the team to stop so he can make some announcements and send them home. Which he does. It doesn't take very long, January really isn't the time for games or anything. It's basically him telling everyone that they're all doing great, but to make sure they practice at home when they can so they don't fall behind or anything ( ... )

He was just... kicking a ball at the wall. What. Maybe it was some sort of practice, but shouldn't he be going for goals or something? Goals were what won the game, not kicking technique.
He knew that this coach was hopeless.
He leaned forward, trying to see better. Maybe he shouldn't have climbed up so high, because he could barely make out what he was doi-
Crash.
OW.
He'd fallen from the top of the bleachers to the floor. And he'd landed on his butt.
"A-Ahhhhhhhhh." He can't help the hiss of pain that escapes him, nor the tears that well up in his eyes. Ow. Fucking ow.

Antonio rushes over to him, kneeling down beside him and asking, "Are you alright?" before continuing, "If you're hurt, I don't think the nurse is here anymore, but I've got a first aid kit in my room if you're hurt," at this point, Antonio's more worried about the kid being okay. That was a pretty loud crash...
He could find out what the student was doing here in the first place later. As far as he knew, all the students should have already left to go home. But, for some reason, this kid was still here. Antonio recognizes him, too... He was that kid who didn't want to go to class that one day at the beginning of the semester. And maybe he's in Antonio's class? He wouldn't be able to place which one, but he thinks he recognizes the kid from class...
