Hello to anyone who's stumbled across this lj or hopped on the link from the BSB website.

A few years ago, I asked my better half what she wanted for Christmas. Her answer? "Write me a story."

Wanted to say what a wonderful first novel Snowbound was! I read it in a few hours, and loved it! I was very happy that the publishers/editors didn't Americanize the vocabulary. I totally enjoy reading books w/their native language intact (ex: theatre instead of operating room; favourite versus favorite, etc). Can't wait for your next novel. Again, congrats and thank you for an excellent read !!! ..

Hi there,

Thank you so much for taking the time to write (and for taking the chance on a first-time novelist!) :-) I'm really happy you enjoyed Snowbound.

When I had the manuscript accepted by BSB I was worried that they would want to tone down its Britishness, but they were brilliant in that regard and left everything exactly as it was. It led to a few interesting conversations with my editor but I think we got the worst of the lost in translation issues ironed out before it went to the press!

I'm busy writing another story at the moment. Whether it'll become a novel is anyone's guess but I'm keeping my fingers crossed :-)

Thank you again for your kind words, Cari.
