This is all because I outbid you on mrissa's sour cherry bread, isn't it?

$30

[Note: this is playful banter and does not reflect any actual irritation, insult, or other disagreement. Besides, you outbid me here a minute or two before I outbid you there, so in terms of possible causality it would have to be you complaining about me.]

...my budget is totally eclipsed by the current bid amount, but I just wanted to register a \o/ for Sid the Science Kid and a great hope that the first season will be coming out on DVD by the time our godbaby (eta about three weeks) is old enough to appreciate that Sid's family looks just like hers.

(My kids and I are TOTALLY a Sid fandom-of-three. And I am cool with that. We dance in the living room!)

I have the producer of Sid sitting next to me right now. What's your budget? We should be able to get you a DVD or two.

Hee. I'm afraid my budget is more around $50. But give them an "Attaperson!" for me.

(Also, there were dinosaurs on a train singing about poop in my living room this morning. Y'all have a lot to answer for. *snerk*)

If you donate $50, we can get you DVDs. I'll call this a Sid-specific-sub-auction deal.

This may be because I haven't read this properly, but is there only one auction going on?

I will consider going with the top two bidders, each to get a basket for their fandom of choice with items commensurate with their bids, if there's enough interest.

Can I send in a check or charge? I don't use paypal since they scammed me.

If that's ok, I'll put up a bid of $60.

Yes, you can pay by check.

I'm pretty bad at remembering to check back.. so.. since you're offering two surprise packages now, how about I offer to match the high bid for the second one. :)

btw, how very very cool an item for a good-will auction!

Hi Brad, I'm a little confused regarding your intentions. are you matching my bid (spurring me to outbid you), or are you saying that you will contribute to our cause an amount of money equal to the amount of money paid by the second-highest bidder?

The latter, though the second-highest is a little confusing. What I mean is:

Whatever the highest bid is at the end of the auction period, I'll match it. So, currently, it looks like I'm in for $200. If the high bid is higher when it closes, so much the better.

Make sense now?

If at the end of the auction the two highest bids from other people matched, would that put you in third place?
