I'm re-reading a lot of things this year, so the last two books I finished (and I finished them at about the same time) were Radio On by Sarah Vowell and Red Dragon by Thomas Harris. Radio On was Sarah Vowell's first book... It's about a year in the mid-90s where she listened to the radio almost constantly and took notes on it. It was a year when a lot of particularly interesting things happened, and during a time when I was listening to the radio almost constantly too. I like the book for the nostalgia of it. It makes me miss a time when listening to radio was something I really wanted to do a lot of... and because it was a year after Kurt Cobain's death, and Sarah Vowell is a big Nirvana fan, it makes me want to listen to all of my old Nirvana records too. And I've started watching Hannibal this year (though I'm not caught up), so I've been wanting to re-read that whole series of books again.

I have two friends with Masters' degrees in Library and Information Science, and they both hated that class, I think specifically because they didn't like the professor. Is the idea that you're meant to be reading sort of... popular things within various genres to recommend or... *does not entirely understand how it works*
That's the reason I had to read To Say Nothing of the Dog so I could recommend different types of books. But we had these groups and each group got to pick a genre and then a book in that genre. And there were certain in each group which had to read that book... it was a really convoluted class structure. But UG that professor... she's horrible.
It's an amazing book. I found the alternate history of it really interesting, but it also managed to be pretty funny too. And I enjoyed the lead characters as well.
I feel like I should be making a list at reccomendations of people here. LOL. But I do want to read both of the books/series you recommended. For multiple reasons. One. Sounds fun and interesting. Two. I wanna see Kivrin and Michael and maybe know them better, lol, since these are their fandoms, yes?
I'm going to have to look into it. I'm wanting to get a library card, so maybe I can do a bit more reading for free, lol. Even e books add up after a while. Hopefully I'll be able to do this sometime this week. :)
