Stella nobis non concessit...

That Mana was angry with him, was no news as of late. It had confused Mahaado greatly, but Yami hadn't told him the exact reason why his apprentice was treating her Pharaoh-sama as a stranger. For all her fear she had declared to suffer that he was hating her, she was very quick to pile her own hate upon him, or so Yami thought- she avoided him, answered him curtly and clipped whenever there was conversation and the look in her eyes...

It made him sad. Both Mana and Mahaado were very special to him, especially them... for what they all had been through together, three millennia before, and right now, present day. To see her hurt and disappointed by him was a great burden, and to recieve her contempt and disdain in return was a great pain. Yami didn't know what to do to make it right. Could he ever made it right? She didn't understand what he was feeling, what he was doing - he had been playing with people's emotions, yes, he deserved punishment for that, and her rebuking him was probably the least punishment he would get.

They had agreed to have lunch together, and Mana would go to Kumiko's right from school, while Yami would go from the Game Shop. He was almost finished, looking at himself in the mirror once again, noticing his bad complexion and his hollow eyes. Losing some sleep was also a small punishment. Before him, on the dresser, was the pair of earrings he had worn as Atemu, as Pharaoh. Sullenly, he looked at the jewelry and with a brusque movement, swept it into the first drawer of the dresser. He was never going to be able to wear anything reminding him of his Pharaoh days and ways again.

It was time to make decisions. After he had met up with Mana and had lunch - as if he could hold anything - he would call Otogi, for the car, to bring him to the airport. Everything was ready. He would leave and everybody was going to be happy. He had thought it would be temporary, but it was probably for the best if he left permanently. Mana would heap accusations and judgment onto him, and he could only tell his side of the story, if she wanted to hear it. After that... well, nothing would really matter. Would it?

Grabbing his coat and keys, Yami quickly left the room, thundering down the stairs after making sure that Yuugi's mother was looking after the twins. It was only fifteen minutes to Kumiko's. It felt like eternity.
