It hadn't been hard to find out where Malik was staying, not with the way Shizuka had run back and forth between the two. The king of thieves had passed off following her as wanting to protect easily enough (as ridiuculous a concept as that was), and had memorized the route by the time she was gone. He normally hadn't bothered to walk her up to the ( Read more... )

The hotel was nice, but not overly luxurious; Malik didn't mind, as long as he got to spend some time with his sister, and in the city he felt most at home, in his own beloved homeland; Cairo. The crowded streets, the noise, the scents.. it was so different from silent, clean, stiff Japan and their elaborate traditions and culture, whereas camels still walked the streets in this town, combined with ancient American cars (cabs) and European models (business men). Egypt was...home, not that underground lair his sister wanted him to visit ( ... )

The king of thieves couldn't help but grin, amused at how Malik had said his name. It wasn't identical to the way Dark Malik said it (no, it lacked the lust to be considered that), but it was oh-so-close.

"Ouch," he teased, putting his hand to his chest. "If you said it with anymore venom, it might actually kill me." He took a step towards Malik, though stopped and glanced around the hotel room. Haa! This room was a step (or two) down from his, but Malik and his sister had been spending their own money. He hadn't been, and therefore didn't mind wasting it on things he didn't need.

"It's been a while, hasn't it?" He didn't move now, standing just a few feet from the other but not daring to go closer. He could handle the other if it came down to it, but there was no point in provoking Malik. (It could be argued that his whole visit was just to provoke Malik, truthfully, but his logic was only half-working.)

"If only it would kill you," Malik spat again, subconsciously taking a step back when Bakura took a step forward. Not very smart, as he had been standing close to the window in the first place; now he was with his back to the window, almost sitting on the window seat. "Get away from me ( ... )

"If only, indeed," drawled Bakura, running a hand through his silver hair. "Now, now, you almost look frightened." He smirked, the expression as confident and cocky as always. "I know you better than that, Malik. You're angry, not scared, so why don't you face me like a real man, hmm?" So much for not trying to provoke him; he sounded as if he wanted to pick a fight now. That really wasn't the case, but as he'd told Shizuka, he tended to have that urge when he was a little drunk. There was something about making people angry that pleased him ( ... )
