Of Priest and Pharaoh

For the first time he woke up in this strange world, Atemu felt a little more at ease - not only for Mahaado and Mana being around, two familiar faces, but also because Set had 'made' it to this world as well, whatever the Gods' intentions were ( Read more... )

Set reached the Mutou residence at a dead sprint, barely getting all the way through the door before he slammed it shut. Groups of reporters had chased him throughout the day, asking him all sorts of questions about his relation to Kaiba Seto - things from being a long lost twin or cousin to being a clone. He had spent the day trying to learn what he could about his surroundings, but his need to return to the sanctuary that Mahaado had provided him overrode his curiousity. Wanting to collect himself before meeting with the Pharaoh, the priest stood leaning heavily with his back against the door, trying to regain his breath.

Used as he was to silence and servants, Atemu jumped almost everytime when he heard an unfamiliar noise, varying from a lid clattering on the tile floor or the vacuum cleaner working, simply because he never heard them before. Just like the phone - the device had been ringing all morning and he had no idea how to use it.

As a door slammed shut downstairs, he all but jumped again, but this time he recognized the sound and quickly made his way over to the stairs and stared down to the small highway. From this point, he couldn't see who entered, or who left..?

Atemu went down the stairs and caught a glimpse of very familiar fabric. The robes of the High Priest.. quickly, he took the last few steps, noticing Set leaning heavily with his back against the door. Faintly amused, he looked at him. "You were in that kind of hurry, Set?"

Set composed himself very quickly and dropped to one knee - the formality was probably not needed, but it had been so long since he had seen the Pharaoh, it seemed the proper thing to do. Deciding to remain there until summoned to his feet, Set raised his eyes to Atemu and was relieved that his voice was calm and even when he spoke. "...That is perhaps one of the things we should discuss."

Acknowledging his formal greeting by slightly nodding his head, Atemu continued: "Rise, my friend. We better go to somewhere we can talk, because we have a lot to discuss about."

It was good to see him, not having changed a single bit since Atemu last saw him- that would've been very strange if Set had looked different, but Atemu was ready to believe almost anything in this strange world.

"The living quarters are upstairs," he said, turning around to lead the way.
