The fact that Bakura didn't understand why Malik had chosen him for help baffled the blond, and as Malik signed off of the computer he was left thinking about the other's reaction to everything. Bakura had insisted that he hadn't been jealous, but something about the other's words led Malik to believe otherwise.

Why though? Bakura had no right to be jealous (although he did, technically, have a reason to be). It didn't make sense to Malik. Didn't Bakura just use him for a good time and move on? It's what the Thief King had done, so surely the spirit couldn't be that much more different than his ancient counterpart.

Deciding that he really shouldn't be worried about it because he'd probably just read the other wrong (Bakura wasn't really that predictable), he moved into the bathroom, fishing through the medicine cabinet in search of something that might help Bakura if the other did have strep throat. The closest thing he could find was a bottle of thera-flu, so he stuck with that, pulling it out of the cabinet and walking into the ( ... )

Malik definitely looked better than before; he noticed no tissues in hand and his nose wasn't all red this time from having to wipe it so much. He would've said something but he was a little too bitter because Malik had gotten better and -he- had gotten worse--and not even with the same sickness, it seemed. He cleared his throat to be able to speak without saliva caught but it was nearly impossible because it hurt to make any drastic movement with it, especially swallow. He sulked, shoulders slumped slightly, and made his way inside. He did the same ritual with kicking his shoes at the wall and held Malik's hand which felt oddly nice in his since it felt much warmer. He really just wanted to go and die in Malik's bed but he had to wait, apparently, for his motherlike ( ... )

Bakura obviously had no intention of listening to him, so Malik just sat down on the couch beside him and sighed. "Do you really want to feel this awful for weeks?" he asked. "Going to a doctor could change that." Then, at least Bakura would have medicine which would help his throat heal in a shorter time.

"You probably shouldn't have come over here," Malik mumbled, violet eyes examining the other closely. "You're really sick, I mean. I would have come to you, you know." Then he frowned and realized that he probably wouldn't have. Bakura lived with the two people he wanted to avoid (and he, currently, wasn't aware that they were out of town).

He knew Bakura wouldn't want to talk much, and really, he didn't think he wanted the other to talk. He felt like they might get along better if the spirit could not mock him for a moment or two. "Do you even take care of yourself?" he murmured, not expecting an answer. He let his hand move to run over the back of Bakura's hand then, feeling just how warm to the touch the other was. He almost ( ... )

He didn't want to feel awful for weeks--hell, he didn't want this to keep happening for more than today. He doubted going to a doctor could truly fix it, though. What would they do that was so amazing he couldn't do it himself? Probably give him something stupid like antibiotics--now that really took 10 years of college to do. All he needed was some good drugs and a nice bed to become a zombie in for about three days--then life would start to look up. That was how it had been last time he was deathly ill to the point where he couldn't even walk out of his own room without holding onto walls.

He glared at Malik. Oh, suddenly he shouldn't have come over, despite that the other asked him to? "Make up your mind," He croaked out, despite that it killed him to do so. He gave Malik a nasty look and went to his cup of tea, taking a sip. It had a sickeningly bitter orange taste Bakura was not fond of. Why couldn't Malik just have this in pill form? Still, he drank it down maybe because Malik just wanted him to and ( ... )
