What are your thoughts in general on the movie you chose? I love Age of Ultron. The cast really hit it out of the ballpark with their chemistry and timing. The writing and dialogue were great, everyone had an interaction scene, there was a decent storyline, a non one note villain, and good secondary characters helping. The team seemed more like a family than coworkers. Have you seen this movie before? If so, did you enjoy a repeated viewing? Oh hells yeah. If not, what did you think? Did you have expectations going into it? I really liked that they "humanized" some of the characters, and not necessarily in an "omg my backstory is beyond anguish" kinda way. Many of them were rooted in real life issues, like wanting a family and love. Which characters did you like the most? The least? Hawkeye. I loved that they finally solidified the roles each hero plays, and Hawkeye is the "dad". He does connect with all of them, whereas the others gel best with certain partners. Which scene was your favorite and why? Hawkeye's home. Would you

Hahah I guess I didn't see the George Clooney Batman but I can imagine enjoying him as Bruce Wayne, that would be a lovely fit. I agree with you on the "short on plot" thing. Maybe I need to rewatch Ultron to really appreciate it; I think last time I was distracted.
Most superhero movies I've found have plots so thin even water is thicker. Ha, true! I guess with the focus on superpowers and special effects, a lot of creators don't put too much effort into the rest, so a lot of the time the plot (and, sadly, sometimes the characters) have to take the backseat.
I'd love to hear more about your thoughts on the X-Men movies. I've read very little in way of the comics but am really into mutants as a storyline. I for sure have my own feelings on the movies but nothing super strong so I'd love some expounding on your loathing.
We seem to be flipsides of the coin in some respects. I love the stand alone Iron Man movies. I loved seeing Tony broken down from his arrogant, selfish and entitled person, dealing with human issues like loss and PTSD, and becoming a stronger, better person because of it.
I'm also a big fan of the X-Men movies probably because I love the idea of all these mutations and how it would affect society and the world as we know it.

This is normally something I love too, but I didn't like the way they did it with Tony. It felt like a 10 minute storyline stretched to 1000 hours.

Exactly the reason I got into the comics in the first place. :D
George Clooney is - and always will be - my Bruce Wayne. Literally the perfect casting, there. And all anyone ever talks about is the chest of the suit. I don't understand why anyone thought Joel's movies were going to be Oscar-worthy. I walked in to both knowing exactly what I was getting. And I loved them both
I'm in the minority that actually liked Natasha's Ultron backstory. But I also seemed to have interpreted it a completely different way than most I see arguing about it....

Amen to that, and it only gets solidified when he does that pep talk to Wanda during the final battle - pure gold, and so perfectly acted by Jeremy.
Now I want to see a scene (or two) where he really connects with Bucky - after all, they can compare notes about brainwashing, for starters.
