- What is the difference between reading books and fanfic?

For me, with fanfic, I can just go to the stories that are created about characters that I love, where I can read about other peoples ideas for those characters that I love and I can get lost in reading what others have for ideas. But with books most of the time, (I am a huge fan of books and have read more books than I have time to mention on here) you have to get to know the characters, learn to love them, learn who they are, what they want in life and so on, (unless you are reading a series LOL.) So in a way reading, fanfics are easier for me when I don't want the effort of learning about a new world of characters but I still want to read.

- Do you think that fanfic can be as good or better than published books?Yes, there are quite a few fanfics out there that are just as good if not better than some of the books that are being put out on the market. I mean don't get me wrong, there are fics out there that are not that good and make me cringe but if someone wants to ( ... )

Agreed. It's so much more convenient to find that thing you WANT to read, versus slog through a book that you might like, but will find you care more about the character on page 73, holding the coffee mug, and then is never mentioned again. :D
