So, me and adelate started talking about vids the other day and the fact that she hadn't seen some of my absolute favourites inspired me to finally do some reccing. These are all SGA but they're so amazing that many should be accessible even to people outside the fandom. You know I have already recced several of these before - and Stress is my favorite SGA vid ever - but I hadn't seen the last one at all. lim is, I think, a little too sophisticated a vidder for me to really appreciate her vids, but this was probably my favorite of hers that I've seen just because of the visual beauty that she put together.

Well yes, most of these vids I found either through you or thefourthvine. ;-)

I think lim treads a fine line between artistic and unapproachable but so far I've found the results amazing. They're visually stunning and very different from all the other vids I've seen. I usually need a story, or at least some continuing thread to enjoy vids but she captures certain moods very well. I have to say Mission Report and The John and Rodney Show went a little over my head.

All through Wallpaper there are these little moments that make my heart clench. Grodin, Zelenka, Miko and all the others. (It made me really miss Grodin!) And the song choice just emphasised that. Also, realising that pretty much all my favourite vids were of McKay and Sheppard (which is understandable) made me crave something with Ronon or Teyla. Or a solid team video.

Hee, well, if you haven't seen these in my old recs, you might enjoy She's a Rebel and Song for the Unloved by Sin (sinden) which you can find at http://www.house-of-fen.org/sin/vids/ - the first is Teyla, the second is minor/secondary characters who, um, don't make it.

Hah! Sounds perfect! I'm off to watch Bleak House on tv now, but I'll have to look them up.

By the way, the HCL stories you recced me earlier were great. It's like they were writing for me, according to my fic kinks!

I just watched Rumble and that was awesome, but what really warmed my McSheppy heart was the Bohemian Like You vid. Heee!

Rumble is a slashy vid, yes, but what I really like about it was the marines vs. scientist as rival gangs. It was hilarious! And I've got Bohemian... in my files as well, but I thought I'd leave something for a second round of recs. *g*

It's weird, tons of fic has come out around Christmas and suddenly I'm all excited about vids. *g* I've got tons of SGA stuff I want people to see, not to mention other fandoms!

I'm kind of sad I don't know of a lot of popslash vids. rikes pointed me to some but I considering how much sparkly footage there is I sort of expected more, you know?
