Smallville ficlet, Clark-Martha :)

Just a little bit of Smallville silliness, inspired by recent garden-related RL frustrations.

Featuring Clark, Martha, and Shelby, rated S for Schmoop. Very short.

Summary: Clark Kent’s toughest enemy lives in his yard.

They Came from Beyond (the Picket Fence) )

gen fiction, shelbyfic

And I LOVE your cute icon!! :) Not sure what's going on with the golf club, but they look like they're having fun! (Hey, that's not from Lost, is it? I *heart* Huuuuuurley!!)

Thanks so much for reading, and for commenting, too!

AWWW!! So sweet! Loved it from the first word to the last. When we lived in NY, one particularly warm winter (for there) kept all the squirrels in the neighborhood awake instead of hibernating. PS, they ate all my moms daffodil bulbs..in the spring when we'd have a whole front garden loaded with yellow flowers we had - three. YAY Clark for relocating the cute little pests!

Thanks, Denise, I'm glad you enjoyed my little anti-squirrel daydream. *G* I only have a deck with windowboxes and flower pots (too close to DC for much room *sigh*), but those beasts still managed to make my life miserable last year by uprooting every pansy/mum/whathaveyou I planted at least three times. So far this year they've only done it once. *Crosses fingers*

Sorry about your Mom's daffodils, though. Now, if only she'd been baking pies.... :D

*dies* My Dad has an annual battle of wits with squirrels in his garden too so this really hit the spot!

*Grins and nods* Maybe we should start a support group: Squirrel Haters Anonymous. Our emblem can be an acorn with a red line through it. :D

Thanks so much for reading and commenting!! :)

Ulps...loved the ficcie but...um...we don't mind the squirrels so much since the cats love to watch them. We have bird feeders out and the squirrels fight to get at them but it's all cat TV to us. I wonder though if the fact that the bird seed is disappearing at an increasingly rapid rate is really because the squirrels (and even one chipmunk!) are storing up for winter. Hmmm...may have to ask Clark to investigate...

ANd there were those early tomato plants last spring...

I''m glad you liked it, Marg--and I'm glad to hear that squirrels do something useful. *g* Although I do wonder, along with you, whether the squirrels aren't collecting payment in tomatoes/bird seed/etc. They're pretty crafty, y'know, distracting us with those cute little bushy tails while they're making off with the goodies!

Thanks, as always, for reading and for the kind words! :)
