*Pokes head up out of prairie dog hole*

Sorry I've been MIA! I've been so caught up in RL lately that I haven't been able to do much more than check up on LJ now and then. Mostly, I've spent the last several weeks driving back and forth to Pgh to make sure Mom and her caregiver are OK (which they are, thank goodness), dealing with an insanely micro-managing boss at work, and--oh yes-- ( Read more... )

"I was a little sad thinking everyone was going to stop using their LJs when SV ended and we wouldn't be able to keep up with each other. I hope that isn't the case."

I'll definitely still be around, M. So many lovely 'Fix It' Fics to write!!! :-D

Don't worry, M! I'm sticking around, definitely. I'm still hoping to rope you into watching those TVD DVDs, after all. ;)

And YAY for my upcoming boss upgrade! *Tosses confetti*

Debbie! *tacklehugs*

Congratulations on the move down the hall with the nice, new boss! And good to hear that your Mum's doing well. I tell her kamikaze scooter story everywhere I go, it's hilarious!

One more week, and canon can go shove itself into obscurity, while fanfic reigns supreme. Yay! And we've waited this long for the next update to Kryptonian Nights...we can wait a little longer! Besides, you have a month and bit to go yet before its actually one whole year since you updated. *g* …and I still have to review the last chapter! *hangs head in shame* :-/

Hope you're looking after yourself, even while you're taking care of everyone else! :-)

*Smiggles Dee back* I've missed talking to you so much! Whenever I get a chance to check up on my f-list, I feel guilty bc I see all your fic updates, which you manage to post in spite of your TWO full-time jobs (in and out of the house!). How you find the time is beyond me. *Bows in awe* :)

LOL @ the kamikaze scooter story! It actually has a bit of a sequel, too. When Mom's caregiver first came on board, she happily informed me that the nearby mega-supermarket had just gotten in a new fleet of motorized carts, so Mom wouldn't have any trouble getting around. And I cleared my throat, said, "Um, no," and watched her jaw sag as I explained just exactly how good a driver Mom wasn't. Another disaster nipped in the bud! *Sighs in relief*

WORD. SV always has been worlds better in fanfic than on the screen. And after next week, we'll be free to make our own canon. Ahh, the sweet, sweet smell of freedom. *G*

Besides, you have a month ( ... )

So very nice to hear your Mom is doing well. I know how tough it can be when loved ones are far away. Over the last few years my parents have had several serious health issues and they live 3000 miles away. The only thing that keeps us (my brother, myself and both our families) sane is knowing that they moved that far away because of the wonderful friends they have there; who also look out for them when my brother and I can't just hop on a plane to take care of them ( ... )

It's so good to hear from you, Mari! I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day. *Hugs*

Over the last few years my parents have had several serious health issues and they live 3000 miles away.

OMG! And I thought *I* had a long-distance relationship with my parent! I give your Mom and Dad tons of credit for having the courage to make a such a huge move for the sake of friendship, but I'm sure it hasn't been easy for you and your brother. On the plus side, you know that your parents will never have to regret not doing something that they always wanted to do :)

I'm also looking forward to 'rewriting' "canon" to our heart's content. I think fanficdom will be overflowing with all the open directions the show has left for us to pursue. Word to the nth degree! It'll be so much easier for all of us to write once we're free of TPTB's lame canon. We can take up these awesome characters and let them do what they REALLY wanted to do all along. I can almost see Clark and Chloe champing at the bit. *g ( ... )

DEBBBIEEEEEEEEEEEEE! *claps excitedly*

I'm so glad your mom is doing well- and that you're getting a newer, improved boss, too! And since good news comes in threes, did you hear about SV's latest ratings? 1.9 million *laughs hysterically* Leading up to the FINALE, and they STILL can't scrape over 2 million! Ah, sweet, sweet karma- how it heals my soul. *evil grin*

In fact, I've thought that I might bring a chart- highlighting SV's plunging ratings in the last years- to hang in the delivery room, so I can LAUGH this kid out. Muwahahah!

I know just what you mean about the fics getting blocked by real life, but I wouldn't worry. As soon as the show is over, I'm hoping there will be a Chlark fic renaissance, because we won't have the fracking show muddying up the waters. Think of the glorious endings we can now give our beloved Chlark!! :-D So don't worry about rushing it- we've got loads of time to play. *skips with Debbie on the playground*

Miss you, my friend! *HUGS*

DAWN!!!!! It's SO good to see you posting! How are you and the Little Stranger doing?? Are you feeling better now?

Oh, and of course, Happy Mother (and Mother-to-be) Day!!! *Smiggles you* (And if you're still under the weather, just think, a few years from now this is the same kid who will be serving you breakfast in bed on this day!)

As for SV, I did see the ratings. *Insert maniacal laughter here* I'm sure they'll do better for the series finale, but honestly, doing better than 1.9 million? For a ten-year-long series about SUPERMAN? Is pretty pathetic, imo. TPTB took a diamond and turned it into dross. I can only hope that their careers go the same way. And meanwhile, we'll both be enjoying all those teaser trailers with Henry Cavill and Amy Adams as the *real* iconic couple. *G*

Good to see you're still out there and that your mom is doing well. I told SV canon to take a flying leap years ago- nothing could be farther from what Superman should be than that horrific show.

Marg!! I've missed you so much!! I saw that you posted a few months ago about your new car (YAY!!) and your two ER visits (eep!), but didn't have time to leave a comment then. *Hangs head in shame* I hope the Camry and you are doing well, and that your year-to-date ER visits remain capped at 2.

As for SV....yeah. :( The best thing I can say is that it'll be over in less than 48 hours. Which will leave us free to follow spoilers for the next Superman movie. Henry Cavill and Amy Adams FTW!!! *G*

Thanks! Sadly, I added a third ER visit due to another round of kidney stone pain but the little sucker popped out on its own just as I was leaving the ER. Since then, however, we've been largely ok. Of course, last night I got up coughing, turned, half asleep, to get a drink of water and managed to run my left foot into the hard maple dresser and I'm certain one toe is now broken because it's all black and blue and weird. So except for that, things are ok. Our county is now a disaster area though flooding is not impacting us at all-we do live on a hill in town here. This has been a hell of a spring for most of the country!

From everything I've read recently, there remains no shortage of nasty Cnoisers in that fandom. Running scared, I'd say. Nonetheless, it will indeed all be over and done with and this sad show which once had so much potential can disappear forever. I still fault TW for not trying to save it when he finally had some real clout at the end.

Eep!! Marg, your poor foot! I broke my toe awhile back, and I know how it feels. The worst part is having to keep off it--which is kinda hard to do if you want to, y'know, walk from place to place. :( I hope that you're feeling better, and I'm VERY glad that at least you didn't have to deal with flood damage on top of everything else!

As for SV, I agree, it did have an amazing amount of potential. I don't think I'll ever forgive TPTB (AlMiles, Souders/Peterson, AND TW) for throwing it all away. I won't be sorry to say goodbye to it--but there is NO way I will ever say goodbye to the good friends I made because of it. {{Hugs}}

Take care of that foot, and please keep checking in on LJ!! :)
