I went to the ophthalmalogist yesterday, and had a retinal scan. (Lasers! Noninvasive technology! Way cool.) Also had my pupils dilated, which took forever to wear off -- I think the tech got overenthusiastic with the drops. I appear to have a tightened area in the macula that gave way with a slight tear (this is apparently a good thing

The description you give of the recuperation from the surgery makes it sound like the same sort of thing Avedon Carol went through a while back...

It seems to be one of those things that sometimes happens.

I'm not diabetic, and I don't have uncontrolled high blood pressure (or, in fact, high blood pressure at all), which are two of the most common causes for unpleasant eye problems.

That seems to me to make its just resolving on its own more likely, but what do I know?
