Lots of people develop them as side effect of passing age 50, and most of them close spontaneously. Mine didn't; it got worse. I had surgery (vitrectomy) that allowed the hole to heal, but I the ( Read more... )

Youch! I hope you will get a painless and rapid fix.

Oh, ugh, how awful for you. Eyes are things we need every minute of our (waking?) lives. Glad that surgery - or the procedure, rather, even if not surgery - will be soon.

And isn't it awesome that we have Kindles and 'bumping up the print size' as a routine ability? Even ten years ago, that was not a certain thing.

Fingers crossed for you.

Definitely wait until after the surgery before getting the new lens until after the surgery; otherwise you'll be wasting your money. Good luck!!!

Best wishes. My husband and I had a chat the other day about why we wouldn't want to live in the past, any era (discussion led from one of those memes where one question was what era you'd like to have lived in). I said current day is just fine, I like access to modern medicine. My husband said that he's glad he wasn't born even 20 or 30 years ago. He's already had cataract surgery and it was SOOOO much simpler and more successful than his dad had just over 30 years ago.

Your vision is certainly putting you through irritating/difficult times. Glad you're able to get everything taken care of.
