This is just wonderful. I love the juxtaposition of making love and assassination. Very clever idea, beautifully executed (as was poor Kirill).

I love the final paragraph and wish I had written it.

If done right, there is so little pain. Nikolai takes great care to assure it. And he knows, deep down in his bones, there is a terrible beauty in this.

Oh god, there's so much power and beauty in such a short piece. Gorgeous work, lovely. I love the last line, but this kills me most:
