I am Terrible at Birthdays--

Apr 17, 2012 23:27

I've been meaning to do something to mark Sean's birthday, first for the day itself, then belatedly. Unfortunately, I've had no luck in actually getting what I wanted (a finished fic) done, so instead, I'm going to default to something else I've been meaning to do ( Read more... )

My pleasure! It was rather nice for what amounts to a very short fluff piece in an in flight magazine, I thought. ^_^

People who interview him and are surprised that he's intelligent and articulate obviously have never ever read any other interview of him. Seriously.

I know. It's maddening! It's like they expect him to be a complete rube who can't speak properly to save his life, or someone who has never spent more than two minutes thinking about anything at all. Bleh.

I love that if you just give him the time and space to talk (and don't ask about his divorces), you'll get some considerate, well-thought-out answers from him. I just wish more interviewers did that.

Also, thank you so much for the very kind note a few days ago. I'm sorry I haven't answered yet; I'm basically crunched for time right now, yay. But regardless, it's much appreciated, and I was very touched. *hugs*

I KNOW. He even knows film history - that the first Disney fairytales were told during the Depression! He's incredibly intelligent, but people just take the '2 A Levels' and 'working-class' and 'likes football and beer' and take him to be a one-dimensional person. It's really annoying and playing to stereotypes.

Yes, exactly, and you can tell what he reads sometimes from the way that he answers things. He's not overt about things like Viggo is, but it doesn't mean there's nothing but fluff in his head either. /kicks the idiots. Why can we get jobs interviewing him. :|

Don't worry about it; I know you're busy ♥ I'm just happy that it makes you feel better, though!

I do so agree with the comments above about Sean's intelligence. He can talk wonderfully if he's given a chance and hasn't nutter women trying to claw him to pieces or show-off interviewing men butting in. He's known to love poetry and reads enormously apparently, all sorts of books. Almost anything - like Vigs. Very much the same sort of minds I think, those two? well, they would be wouldn't they, being in the same sort of work... etc.

Oh lord, the costume is unbelievable isn't it. What a prat he must have felt - wonder if he did it all with a norty giggle deep inside himself?

What a NICE man he is. Just a NICE NICE man indeed. thanks Caras, and I see you DID cheat on the date! teehee.

It is nice that now that he's more well-known, doing various types of roles, that they'll let him speak and not cut him off.

Thanks for posting this. I have to admit, it's probably one movie I won't bother with. So I'll just see the goodies here.

Definitely. It's so much nicer to be actually getting longer, well-reasoned answers from him rather than the stock, "You have five minutes to plug the movie, here are questions about your co-stars... Go!" stuff.

My pleasure! Yeah, I saw the movie, and his screen time is maybe ten minutes on the outside, and the rest leaves something to be desired, so... good plan to skip.

Thanks so much for sharing that - it's it a gorgeous costume? Did ever a man look so regal!

My pleasure! It was such an unexpected find! The costumes in the movie were certainly impressive, and his is no exception! ^_^
