You would think, from all the complaining people do about Valentine's Day every year, that the only people who participate do so at gunpoint. There's a real sense that if you do anything at all for it, you're giving in to the corporate machine, man, or that if you need a day to say "I love you," then you're not saying it enough the rest of the time
