I'm sorry you're sick! *pets* I'm grateful you roused yourself enough to gift us with this gorgeous little piece, though. It was beautiful, but painful. I loved, loved that Sharpe observes that Harper's the sentimental one, but it's Sharpe who dredges up those rough, loving words. I could hear their voices, so precise and true. And by God if I didn't hear the faintest drift of singing as they walked away. Just wonderful. Thank you.

*sniff* Oh, this brought tears to my eyes, dear. Completely unexpected ones, and happy and sad both, for Harris and Hagman and the lives they led, and for Harper and Sharpe, two poorer and two dearer. *sniff* So much emotion so simply, and so perfect for these two.

I love your Sharpe fic, have I said that? If I haven't, I should, and often--it holds so much of what I loved about the series.
