Oh, you have no idea how much I appreciated this. The original drabble series - and especially 'Out of time' just hurt so much - even though it was wonderfully crafted. But now to read an alternative - where they at least agree to start to talk - well, it's just wonderful - thank you so much for posting this. *hugs tight*
and especially 'Out of time' just hurt so much *sigh* Yeah. I imagine the genesis of Out of Time has a lot to do with my state of mind in these last months than any real intent, but it was just something that insisted on being written, despite the fact that Out of Exile (and whatever comes next) was the path I intended to follow from the start. I'm sorry that it hurt, but pleased that it had that level of emotional impact, if you don't mind me saying. ^_^
thank you so much for posting this. Thank you for reading and taking the time to give me such lovely feedback! *hugs*
I found myself relieved over just one single word: "Yes." *G* Hooray! I'm glad. I imagine Viggo is relieved too, although I can't speak for Sean, not yet. ^_~
I went back and read your alternate ending. I much prefer this one. : ) Hee. Me too. Thank you for your very kind feedback!
Like this a lot! Amazing how you manage to concentrate it all in so few lines, really great intensity.
And of course a much happier course than Out of Time, which I liked as well, especially as it seemed a little reminder that I often take things for granted and that they might end prematurely and unexpectedly...
So, Muses willing, maybe we'll hear at some point how that meeting went?
Thank you so much! I'm pleased you enjoyed both this and the alternate ending in Out of Time. ^_^
maybe we'll hear at some point how that meeting went? Yup! It looks like I've got two more parts left in me for this series, one of which is already up here.

Ice formed in burned-out fissures, flash-freezing every fantasized reply I really love this line.
