After every single fight, he couldn't help but let his mind wander into the well known memories of their childhood. Well known, because they were repeated a lot, playing trough his mind like an old comic book, the paper starting to fade because of how many times it was held onto, like the last bit of hope in his life. It probably was.

The scenes in his mind, of their days spend in the attic at Fernando's house. Well, it was way more than an attic, it was their creation, their world, the only place they both felt safe when the big bad wolves of growing up showed up again. They had started building it when they were both 11, with tape, paper and pens they had turned it into a night sky, complete with a paper moon.

He longed for those times, that paper moon and paper stars, those innocent nights they'd just lay there underneath their self-made sky in silence. Daniel wondered why they had stop doing that, more than once every day. It probably wouldn't have mattered that much if they had replaced it with something better, but they hadn't.

It had been replaced with a harsh reality, fighting, yelling at each other and sleepless nights, filled with doubts about what they had together. They always came back to each other though, he guessed that was a good thing. If only they didn't need to come back to each other, that there wasn't a reason to part.

Those were the main reasons for inspiring him to recreate their paper moon times. That's why one day, when Fernando was gone for the day, he made his way up to the attic with scissors, paper, pens, tape, and a determined mind. It would be just like the old days.

"I have a surprise." He said when Fernando entered the living room. Fernando looked at him with curiousity in his eyes. Daniel grabbed Fernando's hand, told him to keep his eyes closed and moved him towards the stairs of the attic.

Fernando stayed silent the entire time, wondering what on earth could be so surprising about their attic that it had infected Daniel with happiness. Daniel slowly led him up the stairs, making sure he didn't fall.

"Okay, open your eyes." He whispered and Fernando did, blinking a few times, his eyes trying to adjust to the light. When they did, his mouth fell open in surprise.

"It's, it's, our night sky." He muttered, trying to take the sight in. It was just like the old days, with little paper stars and a large paper moon in the middle, Daniel's drawing skills hadn't gotten any better he jokingly thought as he turned around to face him.

"It's beautiful." He whispered before leaning in to capture Daniel's lips. When they broke apart Fernando pulled Daniel towards the two sleeping bags that were laying on the floor, just like the old days. Daniel sighed in happiness as the familiarness of the situation washed over him.

They fell asleep in each other's arms that night, underneath their paper moon, in their little world.
