I saw a new portrait today.

As someone who has very recently gotten into goldwork I'm not sure whether I want to dance around in circles like a five year old hepped up on pixiesticks, or go cry quietly to myself in a darkened room.

Here is a detail shot which I think adequately explains the above statement.

However: fear not, this is NOT my next project. This is not even something I plan to do in the near future (other then maybe the partlet).

Funny, draxius had the same reaction. Which I must admit I TOTALLY don't get.

I am (for real) nearing the culmination of a multi-year project, why would I stop just to start another multi-year project right now?

Nah, my next few SCA projects are going to be the accessories for this dress and a few more simple kirtle dresses like my blue dress. I need more stuff to wear to events and the like that is between hand sewn court garb and my completely non period Pennsic field garb.
