And you had to make me cry at work, didn't you...

It's poignant and really sad that Julia never did get to learn what shaped Sam into the man she fell in love with. It was beautiful that she accepted what he could give her of himself--and he certainly didn't shortchange her--but that she never really knew him made me sad.

Thank you! I think Sam would try to shield her from all the awful things out there. Which, yes, means he'd have to shield her from much of his own history.

I had no intention of reading fic today, and really never read it anymore at all, and didn't think I'd finish anything I started. But from the first sentence this had me in its grip. Delightful. <3

Aw, I'm sorry you're not into fanfic any more. Thank you for reading mine!

I love this vision of Sam's 'afterDean.' It is now my headcanon, thank you.

(Did you know when you go to look up 'one n or two' in headcanon, Google has the answer? How happy does it make me that 'headcanon' is common useage outside fandom!)

Thank you! So when will "gencest" make it into the Oxford dictionary? ;)

Your headcanon is also my headcanon (per your note at the end) and you've written it perfectly here. Beautiful. <3
