I concur with your assessment of the episode.

Observations:

1/ I'm surprised Sam hasn't burned the shirt of bad decisions.

b/ Mrs B pulling off his finger nails, no biggie; Mrs B telling him to cut his hair, that brings out his murderous glare!

I pretty much agree with everything you said.
It was lovely to have the brothers being brothers, and happy for once, that i can handwave the lol moments.

This made me laugh out loud

I noticed that Jared is super thin here as Sam, is it just after all the marathons? But he still looks freaking beautiful, and i missed hot professor Sam.

I really do think I'm going to rewatch all the previous seasons. I'm glad to see at least one of my friends will be interested!

And yes, someone said on Tumblr that Jared had been running marathons at the time, so I guess that's what was going on.

I was actually surprised they had Sam seeing Eileen. I mean, I know he likes, maybe even loves her, and I love them together, but the last time we saw her she was freaking out about the fact that God had manipulated their relationship and she was, understandably, worried that it was all based on them both being roofied by God. At least I understand why she didn't stay in the bunker and they met in town. She is probably trying to figure out if she wants to be with Sam. Certainly, I completely buy that she would sleep with him, because BOY was he ever hot tonight, but she may not be up to more than a one night stand for now ( ... )

Oh I forgot. When Larry Ganem said the bunker was secure against all evil, he probably thought Mrs Butters was still powering the place. She would have handled Michael, Lucifer, Crowley et al. without mussing her hair. OTOH Larry Ganem was kind of a creep to leave her there all alone, although I suspect all of "her boys" actually viewed her as a monster and didn't consider her feelings for one moment.
