Jessica is unique, to say the least.
Tiffany had learned in their 5 year friendship with each other that Jessica was a little bit of a “know-it-all”. Even so, with what the long amount of time they've been together, she had learned to deal with it.
Both girls were lounging in Tiffany's room, lazing around with nothing in particular to do. The younger of the two was laying on her bed, flipping mindlessly through pages of some random magazine. Jessica was awkwardly sprawled on the couch, (more like against the couch), her entire body flipped upside down as her legs tapped the cushion, and her body rested against the foot of the furniture while she stared absentmindedly at the ceiling.
Tiffany averted her gaze from the pictures on the magazine to the girl on the floor, confirming her suspicions when she saw the brunette glaring at her.
“What?” the raven-haired girl inquired.
“I'm thinking.”
“About what?”
“I don't know... Recently, every time I'm near you or see you, my heart races and my palms become sweaty. Based on what I'm experiencing, I'm either deeply afraid of you or in love with you. But, it doesn't make sense for me to be afraid of my best friend though, right?”
It took Tiffany longer to process what Jessica had said, since the older girl had said it in such a calm manner. Taking in the information, her face contorted into a smile, and then to a flustered expression. Scoffing in disbelief, she rolled herself out of the bed, and onto the floor. She seated herself in front of Jessica, staring down into the girl's chocolate eyes.
“Can't you just say 'I love you' like a regular person would?”
And so, in the weirdest manner possible, Jessica had made a love confession.

A white vapor escaped Jessica's mouth as she exhaled, stretching her fingers inside her jacket's pockets. It felt awkward for one side of her body to be exposed to the wrath of winter's despair, while the other side was shielded by the warmth of Tiffany pressing her body against her.
Jessica had lost count on how many times she had taken Tiffany out on a date, but nonetheless, she was willing to please her girlfriend, even if it meant going for a walk during the busy nightlife, especially when temperatures were at its lowest.
After the couple strolled for several blocks, Jessica halted in front of a store. The younger girl stared questioningly at her, noticing that the older girl had her attention on the store. Following her gaze, she saw a bouquet of roses, which varied in color, displayed in the store's window.
“Those are beautifully roses.” Tiffany murmured, pushing a hand into Jessica's pocket, where their fingers intertwined.
“I'll buy you one, if you want.”
“Really? How romantic of you!” The raven-haired girl teasingly giggled.
“But you have to pick wisely.”
“Why?”
“Because each one has a different meaning.” Jessica pulled her other hand out of her pocket, pointing to each different flower. “That red rose indicates passion and true love. The light pink one means desire, passion and energy. Dark pink for gratitude. That yellow one over there can either mean friendship or jealousy. The lavender one means love at first sight, and the white rose for devotion.”
Tiffany observed each rose that the brunette had pointed to. After a long silence, she turned her head and pressed her lips onto the older girl's chilled ear, whispering with a smile:
“Can I have all of them?”

The silent buzz of the TV echoed throughout the dark living room, its eerie glow providing minimal illumination to both the room and Tiffany whom laid on the couch.
The girl flinched when she heard the door unlock, sitting upright to see Jessica entering through the door. Waiting for the brunette to shut the door, Tiffany asked, “Where have you been all day?”
“I was trying to get something.”
“Like what?”
“You'll see.”
Jessica maneuvered her way to the couch, seating herself next to the curious Tiffany. Reaching into her pocket, the brunette pulled out a box. The younger girl's eyes widened as she opened the box to reveal a gleaming, silver ring. Tiffany found her mouth agape in awe as Jessica pulled the ring out. She extended her hand, as if asking the other girl to give her her hand. Tiffany stretched out her left hand, which Jessica gently cradled.
“Do you know why we put rings on our fourth finger?” Jessica quietly questioned.
Seeing Tiffany shaking her head, she smiled as she continued, “The Ancient Greeks believed that in our fourth finger there was a vein that ran straight to our heart. They called it the 'vein of love'.”
Sliding the cool metal onto Tiffany's ring finger, Jessica ran her thumb over the smooth surface. The lighting from the TV allowed Tiffany to notice the engraving on the ring, 'Jessica Jung'. Jessica had her attention on the ring the entire time she had been speaking, but now she focused on Tiffany, her eyes staring deeply into her own.
“I wish for my love to empower you to live another day.”
Tiffany found herself smiling like an idiot, eyes lined with tears of joy. She was at a loss of words save for one that she silently uttered, “Jessi...”
She leaned into the brunette, wrapping her arms around her neck as she gently pressed her lips onto the other's, drowning herself in the emotion of love.

The sun's gleam cracked through the opening of the curtains, the slit of light barely driving away the darkness in the bedroom. Under the mesh of blankets, two girls were sprawled in apparent slumber. Tiffany groaned, feeling the grogginess leaving her system. She made sure not to move her body, since the older girl barely left any space between them. Cracking her eyes open one at a time, it took a second for her hazy vision to clear. She almost flinched when she felt a soft warmth on her cheek, seeing Jessica staring at her with a small grin.
“You're awake early...” Tiffany groggily muttered.
“You know, when we fall in love, our mind raises the levels of nerve growth factor, which helps improves our memory. I decided to wake up early so I could memorize the details of your face.”
Jessica ran a finger down the younger girl's jawline, before resting her hand on Tiffany's neck. “I never want to forget something so beautiful.”
Tiffany could only quietly laugh, pulling her hand out from the safety of the blankets to caress Jessica's cheek.
“Hey Tiffany.”
“Hm?”
“Do you ever get annoyed about how I am with all these facts...?”
Tiffany pondered with the droning of a hum. After contemplating over it, she smiled sweetly, eyes staring lovingly into the brunette's. She moved her hand to the back of Jessica's neck, pushing her head so she could plant a kiss onto her forehead.
“Not a bit because quiet frankly...I love my little know-it-all.”

I had the idea for a while, but I didn't realize it would come out so...short. Sorry if it comes off as rushed, I just had this bad urge to write something. :P
Pennies for your thoughts? :3
