Martha blinked dreamily at the Doctor, and sighed as he lifted into the air and began to glow messianically; the Master buried his face in his hands and wished, not for the first time, that he could have put aside his ego and just killed the bastard while he had the chance.

My roommate and I watched this episode together, and were all excited for superBAMF!Martha and the climactic conclusion, and when we saw the ending was all "YOU GOTTA ~*~BELIEVE~*~!" with Jesus!Ten, there was a flurry of facepalming and eyerolling and groaning. I mean... "His name is the Doctor... AND I LOVE HIM!!!"? Come on. So I really wanted to fill this prompt, it just took me a while to figure out how. I'm glad it works for you. :D
Yeah, I think that whole deus ex machina was worse than any of the others there have been. Because when Rose looked into the TARDIS, at least there were repercussions from that, but in this one, it was just *~magic~* and ended happily ever after. It's too bad, because up until that point, the episode was going really well. I even cried a little when I found out who the Toclofane were.
