Thoughts on turning seventeen, (one year until I'm an adult!)

In exactly one month I turn seventeen, which is really scary for some reason. I don't think it's that I'm turning seventeen, (being born in December its never cool turning anything, because a few weeks later people are turning one year older than me again!) I think it's because three weeks after I turn seventeen my best friend turn eight teen and ( Read more... )

Oh, honey. *huggles* I turned 18 this year. And quite frankly, it feels no different. Maybe because I was already in uni when my birthday came around, or maybe because I'm still living with my parents, but it just doesn't seem like I'm any more grown-up or independent than I ever was. Granted, my first election's coming up (argh!), so I'll have to be grown up then. :(

Anyway, my point was, yes, you'll have more responsibilities, but a year's a long time. There's so much that can happen then and well, even when it does come, it doesn't mean that you should be automatically ready to be absolutely independent. I do hope you get better, though.

p.s. I'm not sure what the point of this ramble was, actually. Maybe I'll just hug you some more and make you forget that I've just wasted a minute of your time. *hugs*

Aww, but I love your rambles! Thank you for reassuring me. The logic part of me tells me that it's nothing to be afraid of. But the other part is afraid of growing up too fast.

Thank you for your long comment. I love long comments!

*hugs you back*

I love long comments too!

I'm glad you're sensible, though, because a lot of girls these days want to grow up so much quicker than intended. Have you heard me rant about 12 year-old girls who dress like they're much older? It makes me sad. :( Childhood's great! Being a teenager's (sometimes) great!

Oh I know, I can't understand why these young girls want to look like their 22. I remember when I was twelve (not that long ago!) and all my friends started wearing make up and all they would talk about was their looks and other peoples looks. That was one of the reasons I started having boy friends, less gossip!

I love being the age I am now. Just between being an adult and still be able to act like a child sometimes. Being respected from the adults, but still be able to play in the snow and watch cartoons. (I'm not saying that I will stop doing those things when I get older, but...)

OMG ONLY 3 AND ONE HALF MONTHS FOR ME!!!! aliciap_214 November 20 2007, 23:23:27 UTC
Kewl, I'm turning 18 Febuary 14. So your turning 18, in one year. I'm older then you!!!! But really, I don't know why your sooo afraid. I can't wait to turn 18. Plus on my birthday I have sooo many things going on. There's:
-Valentine's Day
-my birthday
-Our 3 year annaversity

So don't be afraid about turing 18. So many responsibilities, but still it's nice knowing you can be trusted to do alot of things, like voting. When I turn 18, I'll be sure to remember all the poeple that are still 17. And trust me, turning 18 is probably like turning 17, only with ALOT more perks;) So enjoy your soon to be Adulthood!

okey, you're confusing me. On your info you wrote that your 14 soon you're turning 15. Since I turn 17 8.december this year, I'm pretty sure I'm older than you..... or am I wrong?

And, um hi! Who are you? Always nice with new friends but, how did you find me?
