Do you hear the people sing?

Today I used the words occurred, poignant and ambivalent in my English essay. Hopefully my teacher will marvel at my vocabulary instead of thinking me pompous and show-off-y.

I had my first driving lesson today. I apparently can't clutch to save my life, and I pity the cars that was behind me.

I found out that they are planning a Les Miserables ( Read more... )

musical: les miserables, taking my drivers license, made of awesome, school: english

I need to see Les Mis. I do. Like really, I need to see it. When the DVD of the show comes out I'll totally buy it. :) And then, of course, when/if they do a movie of it, I'll see it.

But apart from that, woo for your awesome English vocab! :) Using those kinds of words = great in essays. Tip: google the Academic Word List (AWL) and incorporate words like that in "bigger" essays - your teachers will be super impressed, I promise. A little trick I learned in my Uni class. ;)

Yes, you really, really need to see Les Miserables. I believe that it's quite possibly the best musical in the world!

Oh, my! I'll definitively remember that tip. Thanks!

Way to go, re:English;) And don't worry, you'll get the hang of clutching soon. I didn't even manage to turn on the ignition on my first few informal attempts.

To speak frankly, I think the tour footage as shown roughly between 1:00 and 1:50 looks really bad. I have a ticket for next Saturday's matinee, and I'm actually dreading several aspects of the performance. This is based on the official recording and the opinions of others. I'm kinda excited about the film though, I hope it'll live up to my expectations:)

Thanks!

Oh you do? I'm very jealous. You have to tell me all about it.

My initial reaction to hearing that they'd redone some things was "Oh..." But I have a open mind, and can't really judge anything before I've seen it. And since I probably won't for a while I'm really jealous of everyone who get to see it.

Me too! Please make the movie good! If they just follow the stage-play it will be good. Hopefully they won't add any speaking dialogue, that would really suck.

A strange but groovy website for a little girl. I'm impressed. Keep it up.
