One, erm, interesting side effect of the Budget that I haven't seen reported much in the print/online meeja but which was mentioned on this episode of Moneybox is charities. As many people will know, lots of charity donation forms have a tickbox saying "Please tick this so we can claim back your income tax."

My vendor offered to pay my stamp duty (a not-inconsiderable low 4 figure sum) if I completed within 28 days. I completed at around 35 days, give or take, so I wasn't holding out too much hope.
