... or is this "bankers have to dress down to avoid terrorists" just a plot to make these people buy casual clothes, thus stimulating the economy?

The Government is manipulating them like puppets. The only difference is that Alistair Darling isn't using his fist up a banker to attack Michael Parkinson.

I like the fact that 99% of stealth bankers were instantly identifiable, mainly due to the lack of any wool and/or felten clothes.

On the up side - I get to go in in jeans, so I'm very happy with the scaremongering. What Gap gain in chino sales, Boots lose in sales of tights, as mine have a life span of three wears maximum.
