Can we please, please stop this whole Public Services 2.0 thing?

Well said. The vast majority of people aren't qualified to comment on these matters and it is sheer arrogance and stupidity to think otherwise. I think it is instructive to see comments on improving the NHS coming from nurses, doctors, ward clerks, consultants. But the consumers of the service know nothing about the challenges.

Please, tell me the other challenges the hospital were facing at the time. Oh, wait, you won't know. I did bank reception work in an A&E for a little while, and used to hate having to crank up the 'Estimated wait: x hours' scrollers. What would generally happen is ( ... )

Thanks. I watched Alan Johnson on the politics show and had similar feelings, and you've just got them across *much* better than I ever could.

"...spouting off from ill-informed, outraged members of the public?"

You probably want to stop reading HyS then.

I'm sure that effect of reading HYS will wear off with time ;)

Oh god yes yes YES.

We were talking about this last night, (I was talking, brian was nodding with glazed eyes = married talking) and saying that the randomly dictated 'targets' by politicians who have never worked in the nhs is one of the biggest problems it faces.

For pities sake, leave us alone long enough to catch up fromm the last ten years of targets targets targets.

Totally. Politicians who think they can tell better than the people who do the job.

I spend my life going into care homes to tell them how to do it better but frankly I have DONE it and I LISTEN to them first, observe and talk with them. So far, I've never had to tell them.

First against the wall, say I!

Bring on the revolution! And the gin.
