Oh, good grief. Any word on whether the contents of the hard drive were encrypted? Assuming her password isn't something like 'iwuvgordie', that is.

Resigning would mean that she takes some kind of responsibility, and I'm not sure I can really see that happening with the current lot.

Bottom of the report claims the contents of the PC were "protected". Previous reports on this sort of thing often mix up: Windows passwords, file or hard drive encryption, and the effectiveness of those when the password is stuck to the monitor.

"sensitive documents relating to defence and extremism" could mean something she downloaded from the US Department of Defense website, judging by recent events.
