Bush wants to drop money from a helicopter, but this isn't going to do anything to help the economy, and it'll be just another $150 Billion added to the national debt.

What I think we need to do is reestablish the Works Progress Administration or something like it.  Use the money to offer people employment, doing jobs like improving freeways,

It's just an advance on next year's refund anyways, right?

Some of us don't like getting big fat refunds, and try to make sure we get our money up front. Will this nonsense mean we have to change our deductions so we don't get nailed next year? Isn't helping me if it's just going to bite me in the ass next year. :(

You're right of course, but your plan wouldn't buy as many votes as the piddly cash handouts will. That's the ultimate motive. It has nothing to do with the economy and everything to do with "feel good" politics.
