Mr Turner

Took myself to see the award winning Mr Turner yesterday. Was it too depressing or were there inspiring aspects to it? It's something that I ought to take myself and BF to.

The other amusing thing is that I recognise that windpump at the start of the trailer. We knew they'd been here but they must have been dodging the trains from Lowestoft to film it!

Oh not at all depressing. There is quite a lot of humour and, especially with your photographer's eye, much to relish. But it is long... :-)

I ended up missing the film festival, because my friend with whom we usually go to such things is buried under mountains of work, and I was in a funk myself.

But you make me want to finally have my laptop looked at so I can watch movies online.

Even though I did not quite appreciate Timothy Spall in the two movies I have seen him in. But then maybe it's because there was not really a lot of Churchill in King's Speech and I was disgusted by Pettigrew and did not appreciate his work in that role :)

Oh what a pity! I hope you do get a chance to see some of the films by other means.

I think Timothy Spall is better known for his television work, especially here in the UK. But don't forget his lovely turn as the Beadle in Sweeney Todd - although admittedly that did seem quite like an extension of his HP role given that he was working once more with AR... :-))
