With tomorrow celebrating the first fully equal weddings under Same Sex Marriage Act in England and Wales (it will be October in Scotland), I think I will cry if the BBC show writers don't legalise this 21st century incarnation of the famous partnership at some point. :-)
ah, yes, heard about that in the news, Congrats to England and Wales! Can it also be possible in Northern Ireland, or this part of the UK is far too conservative?
As you know, Scotland has its own completely separate legal system and Parliament - so no, not more conservative, just on a different time schedule. The legislation has already been passed.
Northern Ireland is another matter. They already have Civil Partnerships, but no plans to legislate for fully equal same sex marriage.
The Republic of Ireland also has Civil Partnerships already, and will probably legislate for full equal marriage next year.
