IKR?! The mental image refused to go away once I'd thought it, and omg, now I want to read it so bad. I can only imagine the kind of shenanigans Damen would pull in his wooing of Laurent. And Laurent would be like "... I refuse to admit to being charmed by someone who is SUCH A DORK."

OMG! and maybe he would offer to teach Laurent how to swordfight, and he'd have to do that thing... you know that thing where he stands behind Laurent and wraps his arms around him to correct how he's holding the blade, and Laurent would be blushing like crayzee and saying some Laurentian dialogue to cover how he was getting all shyly hot and bothered.

Both the Regent and Kastor went out together one day to scheme. Rocks fell. They died. It was very sad. For ten minutes. (In other words, LALALA REGENT? WHAT REGENT?)

...Although, if Auguste was alive, would the Regent BE the Regent? Presumably he was Regent because Laurent, the surviving son, still isn't old enough. I can't remember how old Auguste was when he died though =P

Oh yeah, I don't know if the Regent would've been regent, but I don't think we actually know his name, so even if he wasn't we couldn't just call him "the". :D

And his presence in such an awesome AU!fic would definitely be interesting IMHO.

But it's true it wouldn't fit in this particular AU, as it stems from Damen's imagination and Damen still doesn't know about what the Regent did to Laurent. I was sure Laurent was going to tell him when he told him about Kastor, but it seems it's not happening yet (even if Laurent seems as frustrated by Damen's blindness as I am, lol).
