So, let's rewind back to Past Karkat: Wake up. I would like to see some alternate universes/timelines in which Bec Noir reaches the veil, and kills everyone but one troll (of your choice) on a whim because leaving them there, helpless to rot among the corpses of their fallen friends is just hilarious to him. Make it hopeful, or make it depressing, your choice (maybe he destroyed any equipment that could help the troll escape, maybe he didn't). How do they react? Do they desperately seek companionship/aid in the kids over trollian? Do they completely lose it? Do they manage to keep it together? Bonus points for Sollux/Aradia being forced to hear all their dead buddies. A short drabble or a pesterlog is a-ok. So are optimistic, fluffy endings. Or heartbreaking ones. I would totally love to see a take on this scenario for every troll.

Thank you, anon! Nice take! Did you use the present timeline, or were you speculating how he'd react once he ran out of sopor slime after the event? (Was Sollux asleep, or ko'd?)

I can see Karkat hopelessly pleading with Bec Noir. It's all kinds of heart-wrenching.

Present time pretty much :P Maybe a little bit before the recent updates, but bsaically KK was still in the room with fef and Kanaya

He fell silent, briefly, lungs heaving. "glad you're here... didn't want... to die alone." The trickle thickened, as he laughed soundlessly. "equius would... be so angry to know... i've been a filthy mutant-red-blood all this time... telling him what to do." The last sentence he spoke was so quiet, she had to kneel and lean in to hear it. "sorry... guess i was... a terrible leader." He gasped, tried desperately to breathe, failed. Kept trying, until his lungs stilled and his voice joined the dead, a wail of apology and sorrow for letting them down.

Aradia stood up, made sure Karkat was secure and wouldn't fall out of his chair. She said, in both apology and promise, "This will n0t happen", took a final look around the room, and gathered her power to her.

And time span backwards.

Two whole fills yeeessssss! It was great, thanks, anon! BRAVO FOR SORT OF HAPPY ENDINGS! I think I can forgive this sort of cheating. All of the dead troll's- death-echos? were very appropriate.

Hehehe, glad you liked. (:B I did mean to write a more definitive happy ending, but there just seemed like it was where the story should stop, if that makes sense.

Woobie-Karkat is so very much fun to write. Poor Karkat.

I'm sort of thinking of doing the prequel bit of the story where he does move them all, so it really would count for both of them. Then Alone would be Aradia's bit of the story, and the prequel would be Karkat's, and it would feel less cheaty.

Being slightly more realistic, he only actually had to move half of them.

I hope it's ok for other anons to fill this prompt still, because I'm working on a longer piece. I don't know when it'll be up, but I think it'll be in the next few days..
