and back into real life! It's great--they're right back where they started, the Earth hasn't exploded, and their guardians are even back with them!

...uh. Make that their guardians' corpses.

Well, crap. But hey, they can make it on their own! They survived the game, and that was way more dangerous. This will be a cakewalk!

Only Jade has no idea how to get food that isn't random island fruit without Beq, John gets visited by Social Services within the week because he is the most obvious Plucky Orphan ever, Rose has resorted to raiding her mom's bar in-between freakouts and explorations of the weird lab under the house, and no one will hire Dave because of child labor laws even though he really needs money to eat and pay rent.

Where do they go from there?

The answer can be anything from "foster care" to "they get together and have MAGICAL GLOBETROTTING ADVENTURES". I will love anything, I promise.

Can you really live off of pumpkins and whatever else she was growing, though? Given that she had steaks around, I figured Beq teleported her food from elsewhere to supplement her diet with whatever nutrients she was lacking. I suppose she could be hunting down island beasts and killing them for their meat, but if that was the case wouldn't we have seen it at some point? Besides, there didn't seem to be much in the way of animals on the island when she inhabited it... everything about Jade's upbringing is completely over-the-top improbable anyway, though, so it could go either way. Maybe Jade's the only one who's doing well.
